England Golf Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

The UK Government has announced that golf will be able to resume in England on Wednesday, 13 May 2020 after a seven-week hiatus.
In accordance with the Prime Minister’s statement of 10 May, all outdoor sport, including golf, must be enjoyed alone, with one person from a different household or up to three others from within a household group.
Updated guidance has also been provided on how retail provision and coaching may operate after the 13 May resumption of play.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, England Golf has announced a number of key decisions relating to all of our championships and wider golfing activities.
- All championship and performance events up until week commencing 27 July have been postponed with a revised and provisional schedule now in place
- England Golf’s AGM and national participation events scheduled for the spring have been postponed
- A majority of England Golf staff have been placed on furlough as part of government’s job retention scheme. Remaining staff working remotely will be available to assist counties, clubs and golfers in the weeks ahead
- England Golf has produced a series of ‘Play Safe, Stay Safe’ guidelines to enable our golfers, clubs and counties to prepare in advance for golf’s restricted return on 13 May.
